(More customer reviews)As mops go this is one of the better ones that I have used.Often when I am smoking a brisket I need something that I can just slop on the juices with, and this mop is great.The fibers are quite absorbant so the hold a lot of juices.The handle is long enough that I can reach through the small smoker door and mop my meats on the bottom rack.I love the fact that the head is detachable, this makes cleaning up simple.

(More customer reviews)My husband and I bought a big stainless steel grill (the kind with the side shelf and side burner, about 65" total I think).We looked at covers for it around town, and found the cheapest to be about $25-$30.This price pretty much got you a flimsy tarp cut in the shape of a grill.Not to say that these covers aren't effective, but we live in the south where rain, wind, and sometimes snow are a factor.For anything heavy duty, we found that covers were costing around $60 and up.I came on Amazon and found this cover for under $30 and gave it a shot.
This cover is made of heavy material and feels like it will hold up over time.I don't see it ripping from any normal use.It fits our grill perfectly, covering the whole thing.I like that I can put this on while the grill is still hot, because I am not one to remember to go back outside later to slap a cover on.
Overall I would highly recommend this cover.And you definitely can't beat this price for this good quality.

(More customer reviews)Before I bought this for moving charcoal the three feet from the container to the grill, I tried using tongs.The little bits always slipped out, particularly when using lump charcoal instead of briquettes. Took forever, too.Then I tried using a plastic mixing bowl.I couldn't get the charcoal to scoop well because the lip was too thick and the bowl wasn't the right shape. Plus, the plastic is now scratched and seems to be permanently black at the top from the charcoal.Clearly not the best idea I've had lately.

This scoop solved all that.It is large, and seems like it would stop a bullet.It has a nice polish that looks nice, while not collecting charcoal dust.All aluminum means it won't rust when left outside (as mine is).

Surprisingly good quality -- it looks like it cost a hundred dollars at a specialty store.Would make a good gift, especially if you notice that the griller in your life has been scratching up the mixing bowls.

(More customer reviews)If you like grilling kabobs these are great skewers for you.Basically, there are two main types of skewers available in the market.Metal and Wooden.Wooden ones can be made of bamboo or other wood types and often are round shape.The problem with wood skewers is that they can get burnt if the grill is quite hot so you have to soak the skewers in water before use.Also, because they are round, it's difficult to "flip" the skewer so that you can evenly grill the kabobs or whatever else you are grilling.
The metal skewers generally available in market are round.You don't have to soak them in water but they still have problem with flipping the skewer for even cooking.Flat metal skewers are perhaps the best.They are not burnt by heat and you can flip the skewer easily for even cooking.The only thing you have to be careful about is that metal gets hot after being on grill, so hand gloves are a must with these.
I bought weber flat flat skewers before I bought these.The weber ones are not as wide and perhaps not as sturdy as these.These skewers are also available in 5/8 inch and 7/8 inch widths besides the 3/8 inch width.I bought all three width skewers from amazon but I think for most purposes 3/8 inch size is best.
I am giving these four stars because when I hand washed them I could bend the skewer while washing and I think they could be made sturdier.
For the price, I think I got an excellent product.

Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Insulated Food Gloves, Pair Review

(More customer reviews)I can't believe these gloves haven't been reviewed by anyone else yet! I've had mine for a year now and they are absolutely great for handling hot foods. I use them for pulling pork butt or moving hot chicken from the grill (or oven) to the cutting board (and then to hold onto it while carving it). When I can't smoke pork butt outside in the winter, I do pulled pork in my crockpot and with these gloves I can shove my hands right into the scalding liquid of the crockpot to remove the butt and then pull it apart. Another great feature is when you clean them, you just leave them on and wash your hands with soap and water under the faucet. I think they're great!

Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Marinade Injector Review

(More customer reviews)First, don't buy this except on sale; I got it for $3.99, and I wouldn't pay a penny more for it.There are several features in particular that I don't like.The first is that you need a fairly sufficient amount of marinade in order to get it to draw any fluid.Because of its design, the fluid has to be at least 3/4 inch deep; any less and it is about impossible to get it to pull up the liquid.That means you have to plan to use the marinade on the outside as well as the inside of the meat, or you just plain have to be cooking for an army.

The second thing that I noticed is that none of the spices draw up, only the liquid.I couldn't get it to pull up any seasonings at all for injection, which is another reason you have to be planning to baste your marinade on the outside.Third, there is leakage in using the injector, and with an oil based marinade, this gets messy to use in a hurry.Fourth, while this will go in the dishwasher, getting the plastic chamber to be clean is another matter.I ran it twice and finally had to clean it by hand.All in all, if I had to do this again, I wouldn't.

July 9 update:After my first use, I noticed that the plastic cylinder split at the bottom where the needle attaches.I was careful in using this product, and this is just junk.Don't waste your money on this.

(More customer reviews)Save your money and buy something else!I got this set for my husband and it looks great when you open it up.Nice case, though made of cardboard, and nicely packaged.Looks like it's all metal.He used it right away.First problem was thegrill brush fell apart when he scrubbed the grill.Literally the bristles pulled off the brush and fell into the grill. But we pressed on.The metal skewers melted on medium heat on the grill.The handles must have been attached by glue or something, and after a couple of minutes, the handles melted and fell off.There was nothing on the package to indicate that the skewers were decorative only, so logically you should have been able to put the metal skewers on the grill.Overall just a disappointment.We'll be returning.We found a set of ChefMate all metal ones at Target on sale for $15 which look much better than this one, so shop around for more.

However the actual product shipped is different. The metal wires do not go all the through the wooden handle, they actually go into the handle about 2 inches and stop. This puts too much pressure on the end of the wooden handle and as a result the wooden handle on my unit cracked and broke completely off the very first day I got it as I walked towards my BBQ and I didn't even have it loaded with hamburger meat. The weight of the unit itself caused the handle to break due to the poor design, a real balance issue!
